Quickstart Installation

DO NOT PLUG THE USB INFRARED RECEIVER INTO YOUR PC YET!

  1. Put two AAA batteries into the PC Remote.

  2. If the PC is turned off, turn it on and wait for Windows to finish booting.

  3. Put the PC Remote Installation Software CD into the PC's CD/DVD drive.

    1. If the software installation starts automatically, go to Step 4.

    2. Otherwise, use Windows Explorer to browse to the CD/DVD drive and double-click on PCRemote-vX.X.X.exe.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions. Do NOT plug in the USB infrared receiver until the software instructs you to do so.

  5. Wait for Windows to detect the hardware and install the device drivers. This can take anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or longer on slow computers.

    1. For Windows XP ONLY: When the driver installation window pops up, select “Install the software automatically”.

  6. Once the hardware is properly installed, a full-screen slideshow will appear and introduce the PC Remote.
